Max’s Harry Potter series has reached the writing pitch stage of development. According to Deadline, several writers are stepping up to bat, including Kathleen Jordan, Martha Hillier, Michael Lesslie, and Tom Moran. The number of writers that will get on board with the series is unspecified at the moment, but it could be more than one. With the potential number of writers making idea pitches to Warner Bros. Discovery and Max, the possibility of spin-off content is present as well. This process is still reportedly in the early stages; more details will come with time.

Jordan is a Los Angeles-based writer and producer known for works such as Teenage Bounty Hunter (2020), American Princess (2019), and Pacific Warriors (2015). Hillier is a British producer, writer, and script editor known for Casualty (2008), The Halcyon (2017), and The Last Kingdom (2020-2022), among others. Lesslie is a British writer and producer known for a variety of content, including Citizen K (2019), Assassin’s Creed (2016), and most recently The Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Moran is a British director, producer, and writer known for The Devil’s Hour (2022), The Feed (2019), and Romanesco (2023).

This mix of potential writers presents an interesting opportunity for the upcoming take on the Wizarding World. Keep in mind that there may be unnamed others pitching as well. J.K. Rowling will be the executive producer of the series, and she will have a fair bit of involvement in its development. The exact extent has yet to be seen and specified.
